The garden here is about 6 weeks old and full of tomatoes and other good stuff. It's amazing to see what was planted in the 4-hour period we had to cultivate and plant the garden. Soozie is a wizard with a cultivator, she's a hard worker. The garden was carved out, dropped in and then off to the old place to pick up another load with the moving van--across two states.
With every other thing that needs to be done around here, we've not been able to carve out time to make the garden bigger. So after some discussion, it was decided to use containers. They are strewn about on the side deck and east lawn border. And the containers are of the "all sorts" category. Reused pots, buckets, tubs, baskets of all sizes.
What's in those containers--basil - lots of it, onions, lettuce, dill, cabbage, brussels sprouts, mints, lemon thyme, summer savory, rosemary, strawberries, cilantro, parsley. Lovely...

New garden
Have planted a new garden in a new place to call home. Spot was fallow for a long, long time. But the wonderful news is that this particular yard was previously known for it's prolific production of fruits and veggies. The almost acre yard contains mature fruit trees.
Stay tuned for updates...we are still moving stuff across several states.

It's time to meet again......
Did you see us in the news in Sunday's Herald Times Reporter?
Here's the link
http://www.htrnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008808170375
The article included photos of Soozi watering her garden with water from her rain barrel, and a nice shot of the rain barrel. Still trying to find those photos on-line, so we can share them here.
Anyway, hope your garden is growing and producing - keep us posted.
We are meeting Wednesday, August 20th at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington House. See the side bar for more info. (Yes, we know the meeting info is not quite right in the HTR.)
